The Democratic Alliance (DA) is proud to announce André van Dyk as our candidate to contest the Rustenburg Ward 15 by-election to be held on 24 June 2026.

André is a passionate DA community activist, a dedicated volunteer, and a proven leader who has spent years working to improve communities across Rustenburg through hands-on service delivery initiatives and civic involvement.

André is well known for his community work through “Our Ward Matters,” a non-profit organisation he established to tackle illegal dumping, littering, and environmental neglect in Rustenburg. Through this initiative, André has led clean-up campaigns across several wards alongside residents, DA councillors, community organisations, churches, and volunteers.

His work has included successful projects in Waterfall East, Geelhoutpark, and other areas throughout Rustenburg, bringing communities together to restore pride in local neighbourhoods. These efforts have earned him widespread recognition, appreciation, and respect in local and national media.

André also serves on the SPCA committee, manages the organisation’s charity shop, and serves as a Public Liaison Committee member on the N4 Bakwena project.

André is passionate about creating safer and more secure communities in Rustenburg and helped establish community-driven CCTV and security patrol initiatives in Azalea Park.

The DA believes André embodies the kind of servant leadership Ward 15 residents deserve – leadership that is visible, community-driven, and focused on practical solutions.

Ward 15 residents deserve a representative who does not wait for change but actively works to make it happen. André has already demonstrated his commitment to cleaner, safer, and better-managed communities, and the DA is confident that he will be a strong champion for Ward 15 residents towards improving service delivery.

The DA in North West has full confidence in André van Dyk’s candidacy and believe that he will build on the legacy left by the late DA Councillor, Ilse Edwards, in service of all Rustenburg Ward 15 residents.
