- North West residents have an opportunity this weekend to take the first step towards fixing failing municipalities by registering to vote DA.
- Years of poor governance have left communities with collapsing infrastructure, failing services, and municipalities in crisis.
- The DA is calling on all eligible DA supporters to register to vote DA to and help build municipalities that work for their residents.
This weekend, 20 and 21 June 2026, North West residents have an opportunity to take the first step towards restoring accountable government and fixing municipalities that have failed their communities for far too long by registering and confirming their voter registration status to vote DA ahead of 4 November 2026.
Across the province, residents are living with the consequences of poor governance. Not a single municipality in the North West has achieved a clean audit. Municipalities continue to struggle with financial mismanagement, governance failures, deteriorating infrastructure, and declining service delivery.
Communities have watched roads crumble, sewerage spill into neighbourhoods, water infrastructure fail, refuse remain uncollected, and streetlights stand broken for months. In some municipalities, political instability and infighting caused by a desperate ANC have become the norm, while residents are left waiting for basic services.
These failures are not accidental. They are the result of poor leadership, weak accountability, and governments that have too often prioritised ANC politics over the needs of residents.
Every pothole, every sewage spill, every water outage, every broken streetlight, and every stalled development project serves as a reminder that local government matters. The decisions made in municipal councils directly affect the quality of life of every resident.
The upcoming 2026 Local Government Elections will determine whether municipalities continue down a path of decline or whether communities choose a different future built on accountability, service delivery, and responsible governance.
The DA has consistently demonstrated that where we govern, our governments are held accountable, residents benefit from better financial management, improved infrastructure maintenance, and more reliable service delivery. Municipalities should exist to serve residents, not politicians.
The DA therefore calls on every eligible voter who wants to get their municipality working again, to use this registration weekend to register to vote DA, verify their voter registration details, and to encourage friends, family members, and neighbours to do the same.
Real change begins when citizens participate in democracy and vote for the only party with a credible track record in government – the DA.
If we want municipalities that work, we must elect DA governments that work. Register this weekend. Vote DA on 4 November 2026. Let’s take hands to build a better future for the people of the North West.
