The DA in the Kgetlengrivier Local Municipality has reported Cllr Kagiso Selaolane, Cllr Kleinboy Motaung and Mayor Thabo Jacobs to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) following widely circulated recordings allegedly implicating themselves in interfering with the municipality’s tender processes.

We will also table a motion in Council demanding the suspension of all implicated officials.

In September last year, Coghsta MEC Nono Maloyi, recommended to Council that the Municipal Manager (MM), Clement Letswalo, be put on special leave owing to irregular appointment processes. However, a faction of the ANC, supported by the EFF, has sought to retain the MM despite the MEC’s recommendations.

Kgetlengrivier residents are desperate for basic service delivery, but instead of delivering basic services, the ANC is busy looking for ways to siphon more taxpayer money to line their pockets.

For as long as the ANC remains in government, cadre deployment and corruption will continue to be on the rise while service delivery collapses. On 29 May a vote for the DA is a vote for an end to cadre deployment, fraud and corruption.
