The Democratic Alliance (DA) Lekwa-Teemane Constituency continues to prioritise responsive, hands-on service delivery by actively addressing issues raised by community members and ensuring that local concerns are met with practical action.
Following reports from residents, the DA attended to the cleaning of the former Post Office building (see before and after photos here, here, and here).
As part of ongoing efforts to maintain a clean and dignified town, the constituency also conducted sweeping and cleaning of streets in the inner-town area (see photo here and here). This initiative forms part of the DA’s commitment to creating a healthier, safer, and more welcoming environment for residents and local businesses.
The constituency further responded to a major electricity infrastructure failure after fallen electricity poles caused a widespread outage affecting the inner town, Geluksoord and Marikana (see photo here). The disruption lasted two days before Eskom restored supply. Throughout the outage, the DA closely monitored the situation, engaged with affected residents, and ensured that communication remained open until power was restored.
On 16 January 2026, the constituency also assisted a community member by unblocking a blocked drain. This direct support reflects the DA’s belief that effective governance starts with addressing the everyday challenges residents face.
The DA Lekwa-Teemane Constituency remains committed to practical, solutions-driven service delivery. Through visible action, rapid response, and community engagement, the DA continues to demonstrate that accountable governance can make a real and meaningful difference in the lives of residents.
