The DA in the North West is elated to have won yesterday’s by-election in Ward 5 Maquassi Hills Local Municipality, ousting the ANC from the Ward and making it a DA Ward.
The Maquassi Hills Ward 5 by-election was contested by the ANC, EFF, ACP, and Truth, yet it was the DA which emerged victorious.
The DA’s committed programme of action to rescue our small towns throughout the North West has resonated with residents, and this positivity has led to victory in yesterday’s by-election.
The DA secured the victory in Ward 5 Maquassi Hills, with 41.88% of the vote, outperforming the ANC, who received 37.78%, the EFF with 20.04%, and both the ACP and Truth parties, each with only 0.15%.
We congratulate DA Ward Councillor-Elect, Don Van Zyl, who is committed to bringing positive change to Ward 5, to improve service delivery, address community needs, and ensure a better quality of life for all residents.
On behalf of the DA in North West, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to every single Maquassi resident who voted DA yesterday to make this victory possible.
