- The DA has opened another criminal case against Ditsobotla Municipal Manager Oloatse Bojosinyane for further investigation by law enforcement agencies.
- Bojosinyane’s appointment remains under legal challenge, having been made by an illegally constituted Council meeting and without the required concurrence of the COGTA MEC.
- Since Bojosinyane’s arrival to Ditsobotla there has not been any improvement in basic service delivery.
The Democratic Alliance in Ditsobotla notes the statement issued by Mr Oloatse Bojosinyane lamenting the fact that we opened another criminal case against him two weeks ago under Section 173(1) of the Municipal Financial Management Act.
We opened these criminal cases for further investigation by the relevant law enforcement agencies. The evidence he seeks will be a matter for the investigation.
In addition, we have previously opened criminal cases against Mr Bojosinyane under the Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act, Act 12 of 2004, for fraud, intimidation, coercion and extortion.
We would like to remind Mr Bojosinyane that his appointment on 5 March 2025 was unlawful, having been made by an illegally constituted Council meeting in Mahikeng. The appointment also failed to carry the concurrence of COGTA MEC Oageng Molapisi.
Mr Bojosinyane is further reminded that while Ditsobotla remains under Section 139(7) administration, he has no executive authority. In short, his continued presence in Ditsobotla remains an unnecessary nuisance and a financial drain on the municipality’s limited resources.
In any case, if one were to assess Mr Bojosinyane’s period of unlawful appointment in Ditsobotla, one would soon realise that he has only had a negative impact on service delivery. There is nothing that one would find that could redeem him by way of an improvement in basic service delivery.
The matter of his appointment is set to be finally determined by the Mahikeng High Court in due course. The State Attorney is in the process of finalising papers, and we remain confident that the court will bring this matter to finality.
The fact remains that, had Ditsobotla been under a DA-led government, the likes of Mr Bojosinyane would never even have been considered for the position of Municipal Manager. Where we govern, we appoint qualified, skilled and experienced individuals of integrity to serve in these critical positions.
Our Working For All Manifesto makes this commitment clear: we will end cadre deployment and corruption by appointing competent people on merit, enforcing consequences for poor performance and making procurement more transparent.
Ditsobotla residents have an opportunity on 4 November 2026 to elect a DA-led municipal government that will be accountable, transparent and focused on delivering services.
We will fix what the ANC has broken.
We call on all residents not to miss this opportunity to vote DA. Do not allow yet another ANC coalition government of corrupt cadres to continue the dysfunction that has brought this once-beautiful municipality to its knees.
Ditsobotla can work for all. But it needs a DA government that puts residents first.
