The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Lekwa-Teemane continues to strengthen its service delivery efforts across Christiana and Utlwanang, showing visible and sustained action to improve living conditions and rebuild community confidence.

Over the past few weeks, the DA constituency team, under the leadership of several councillors and activists, has intensified its outreach through clean-up drives, stakeholder engagements, and community partnerships aimed at restoring dignity to neglected public spaces and addressing the day-to-day challenges faced by residents.

One of the most significant outcomes of these efforts is the establishment of a new local NGO, River of Hope, formed through collaboration between the DA constituency, community leaders, and residents of Christiana. The NGO’s mission is simple yet powerful: to unite the community in cleaning, restoring, and uplifting their town for the benefit of all who live there.

In partnership with River of Hope, the constituency recently launched a “Clean Up Our Taxi Rank and Streets” campaign, focusing on restoring cleanliness and safety to some of the most frequently used community spaces. This initiative aims to ensure that Christiana’s public areas are clean, functional, and dignified, reflecting the pride and potential of the people who use them daily.

The DA expresses gratitude to the many hands that made this project possible. From those who helped secure funding and resources through River of Hope to the community members and partners who offered their time, tools, and support.

While the project will continue over several days to ensure a lasting impact, the DA Lekwa-Teemane Constituency remains steadfast in its commitment to follow through and deliver tangible results.

The Democratic Alliance’s focus is on action rather than talk, and that partnerships like River of Hope show how communities can take ownership of their towns and build something better together.

The DA in Lekwa-Teemane reaffirms its commitment to accountable leadership, transparent governance, and hands-on service delivery. All residents, regardless of political affiliation, are encouraged to participate in these ongoing efforts to make Christiana and Utlwanang cleaner, safer, and stronger communities for future generations.
