The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Lekwa-Teemane, Christiana branch, remains committed to tackling the everyday challenges faced by our residents. On 19 September 2025, the team continued with hands-on service delivery initiatives to support our community.

We recently intervened to help restore reliable water access for residents. After engaging with the Water and Sanitation Department, we learned that a leaking fire hydrant was caused by a faulty rubber seal. The DA team raised funds, purchased the replacement part, and worked hand-in-hand with the municipality to complete the repair. The hydrant is now fully operational, ensuring that water trucks can fill up efficiently (see photo here).

Residents had also reported an ongoing power outage linked to a faulty underground cable. Repairs required the use of a TLB, which the municipality did not have on hand. A DA member generously made one available from his farm, allowing us to assist the Electrical Department in digging the trench and resolving the problem. As a result, power has been restored to the affected area (see photo here).

At the same time, our clean-up campaign in the streets of Christiana continues. Working together with residents, we are determined to create a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment for everyone in our community (see photo here). Service delivery remains the key priority.

By working with communities, supporting municipal teams where possible, and taking proactive action, we are proving that real solutions are possible when accountability and teamwork come first.
