This weekend the ANC descended on Potchefstroom for its manifesto review event, and just like the ANC in government leaves a trail of destruction in people’s lives, so too did ANC cadres undermine common decency, the law, and left the town littered with garbage.
ANC bigwigs descended into Potchefstroom in their notorious blue light brigades, driving like maniacs, ignoring all traffic rules.
True to ANC corrupt colours, conflating the Party with the State, cadres were seen handing out taxpayer-funded sanitary towels at various primary schools in Ikageng, followed by the distribution of eggs and vegetables at various centers, the planting of vegetables at a creche, the handing out of wheelie bins, the handover of three houses in Ventersdorp, distributing cricket and soccer kits, books and toys.
There was even a ceremonial pothole patching by a MEC.
The ANC in its desperation to remain in government played Santa Claus in a bid to buy votes for next year’s election.
On Saturday, the ANC cadres were lured to Olën Park by posters bearing a smiling Ramaphosa photo, nailed into historic oak trees, a national heritage, and the promise of food and drink.
This revelry deteriorated throughout the day. ANC cadres were seen roaming the streets in a drunken state. Drunk drivers aggravated the safety risk created by the blue light brigades, but police and traffic officers were nowhere to be seen despite being present in numbers to protect ANC VIPs.

As next year’s elections draw closer, there is a real and exciting possibility of a positive change in South Africa breaking with the devastation left by the impoverishing, corruption, and fraud-ridden ANC hegemony.
The DA calls on voters to speak out against the ANC’s continued arrogance and abuse and to register to vote DA in next year’s elections. We have an opportunity to rescue South Africa, and the 2029 elections may be far too late.
