The DA in North West would like to thank all residents, community policing forums, neighbourhood watches, farm patrol units, private security, and the SAPS, who remained steadfast and vigilant during the EFF’s failed national shutdown on Monday.

Despite the EFF’s threats of violence and its intimidation tactics, residents of the North West showed that they do not have the time nor inclination to give in to these threats or to participate in a destructive political gimmick.

The DA is encouraged that most residents chose the side of rationality and constitutionalism rather than the EFF’s programme of disruption, destruction, and violence.

There is absolutely no doubt that people have had enough of the ANC’s continued misrule and would rather opt to remove the ANC-regime from government through constitutional means at the ballot box next year.

The North West is plagued by almost three decades of ANC-failed governance. Infrastructure is near total collapse, while even basic service delivery, like water and electricity supply, is almost nonexistent for many residents. There is a lot to be angry about, but channeling that anger in a constructive way is what gives us hope for a better tomorrow.

The DA in North West will continue to serve all the people in all communities throughout the province. We will continue to take our message of good governance and service delivery to every home. And in 2024, we could usher in a new era of prosperity, productivity, safety, and security in this province and the country with the support of the silent majority, which on Monday rejected madness for rationality.
