The City of Matlosana is failing tax-paying residents by not enforcing the city’s bylaws on illegal dumping in residential areas. In this process, the city plays a vital part in devaluing property values in areas that are near these illegal dumping sites.

On the corner of Hamman and Scheepers Street in the neighbourhood of Meiringspark, this once neat and clean neighbourhood in the city was turned into a shadow of its former glory by the lack of exercising the mandate given to them by the very same residents.

Illegal dumping is not only a nuisance; it is a direct violation of our bylaws and a significant threat to the beauty and health of our city. Every day, we witness the consequences of this irresponsible behaviour. Plastic bags and hazardous waste litter our streets and parks.

This not only tarnishes the image of Matlosana but also poses serious environmental risks. Dumped waste can contaminate our soil and water supply, leading to health issues for our families and wildlife.

We have bylaws in place, and we demand that the City of Matlosana enforce these laws and implement a cleaning project. They can simply not ignore their responsibility to the community that they are supposed to serve.
