The DA in Matlosana is concerned about the poor infrastructure of the water system in the city.

After the DA continuously reported the water leaking on the corner of Martie and Oom Jacobstraat in Meiringspark for four months, the municipality finally sent a team to repair the leak.

Although the DA welcomes the repair work that has been done, we are concerned about the poor infrastructure.  The extra pressure caused a faulty valve on the corner of Martie and Mauritius Streets to worsen and thousands of liters of clean water to flow into the streets of Meiringspark.

The DA has continuously reported the faulty valve over the past two years, but as usual the municipality ignored the requests and allowed the situation to worsen.

The lack of maintenance causes the infrastructure to deteriorate.  If the municipality continues to neglect the maintenance and repair work on the system, a total collapse may be imminent.

In a DA run municipality substandard work and lack of consequence management will not be tolerated. Unite behind the DA to save our city.
