On the 19 of June 2025, 38 residents officially received their title deeds at Olympia Park Stadium, granting them full ownership of their homes. This ceremony is a testament to the dedication of Ward 14 DA councillors who have led this fight since 2008. Their tireless efforts have finally come to fruition, bringing joy and security to the residents of Amberboom. (See picture herehereherehere, and here.)

The transfer of title deeds is more than just a formal process; it is a powerful tool for economic growth and stability. It provides families with dignity, security, and the opportunity to build generational wealth. Residents can now use their properties as collateral for loans, invest in home improvements, and pass on their assets to future generations.

One notable highlight of the ceremony was 82-year-old Mrs. Henrina Visagie, who was overcome with emotion as she received her title deed. Her story is a powerful reminder of the impact this milestone has on families who have waited decades for official recognition of their property rights. (See picture here.)

The DA remains committed to effective governance and tangible service delivery. Across DA-led municipalities, thousands of title deeds have been handed over, demonstrating the party’s ability to deliver on its promises. This achievement is part of the DA’s broader efforts to promote economic development, reduce poverty, and improve the quality of life for all residents. (See report hereherehere, and here.)

Property ownership is more than just a legal document. It is a powerful tool for economic growth and stability. As we move forward, we are dedicated to collaborating with all stakeholders to bridge the gaps and drive meaningful transformation, thereby promoting social cohesion in our communities.

The DA urges all levels of government to prioritize the transfer of title deeds and eliminate unnecessary obstacles that delay homeownership for deserving families.

A follow-up meeting with residents will be scheduled to hand over the remaining 45 title deeds in the next phase.

The DA is committed to ensuring that every qualifying South African receives their rightful title deed. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that all residents receive the benefits of property ownership and economic empowerment.
