The Municipal Manager (MM) of the City of Matlosana, Lesego Seametso, authorised a questionable tender to Betseba Holdings for grave digging in Stilfontein Cemetry while she was on sick leave.
Seametso and her sister were arrested by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime on charges of theft, fraud and money laundering. According to reports, Seametso was implicated in tender irregularities amounting to R3 million.
Now she awarded a tender to a dubious company, Betseba Holdings, whose municipal account is R180 000 in arrears and their Tax Clearance certificate from SARS in not up to date raising red flags.
The DA in Matlosana will keep a close eye on the investigation into Seametso. All officials must be held accountable.
