The DA in North West mourns the death of DA JB Marks Councillor, Lawrence Motlhoiwa, who sadly passed away on Saturday morning. See image here.
Cllr Motlhoiwa served as a DA Councillor in the JB Marks Local Municipality since his election on 10 August 2016 and was the representative for Ventersdorp, Wards 30, 31, 33 and 34. He also served as the DA’s Whip in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality.
Lawrence was committed to the DA’s programme of action and diligently served the Ventersdorp community under very difficult circumstances.
He was committed towards the education of children. He served as a teacher and a school principal and has left a strong legacy in education.
Lawrence leaves behind his wife, Francina Motlhoiwa and his twin daughters, Kaone and Lerona Motlhoiwa.
On behalf of the DA in North West, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Motlhoiwa family, his friends and colleagues in the JB Marks Council. His noble character and passion for what is right will be greatly missed, but his legacy inspires us to live and work by the example he set.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
