Tomorrow, 6 August 2020, the Democratic Alliance (DA) will conduct an oversight inspection at the Job Shimankana Tabane Provincial Hospital in Rustenburg, North West.
The delegation will be led by DA Shadow Minister of Health, Siviwe Gwarube MP and DA North West Spokesperson on Health, Gavin Edwards MPL.
Rustenburg has a high Covid-19 infection rate, making the efficacy of this hospital critical in the fight against the pandemic.
The recent spike in deaths in the North West, particularly in the Bojanala District, underscores the importance of the inspection.
The province’s health system has not sufficiently prepared for the sudden upsurge in infections, poor hygienic conditions of health facilities and shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for healthcare practitioners.
