The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Lekwa-Teemane, continues to demonstrate proactive and accountable leadership by ensuring that critical service delivery projects are completed efficiently and maintained to proper standards.

This past week, DA representatives conducted several oversight inspections to monitor progress on key infrastructure sites. At the local taxi rank, community members have taken the initiative to install a public water supply, an encouraging example of residents stepping in where the municipality has fallen short (see photo).

The DA also inspected an unsafe electrical pole that has been reported for urgent municipal attention (see photo).

On Tuesday, 4 November 2025, two councillors visited the ongoing sewer rehabilitation project to assess incomplete sections, damaged infrastructure, and inadequate backfilling. The contractor has since committed to returning next week with the necessary machinery and materials to complete the outstanding work.

A follow-up oversight visit is scheduled with the Director of Community Services, Tebogo Lesie, and Manager of IDP, JB Sparks, to evaluate progress at the taxi rank and within the town centre.

The DA remains steadfast in promoting transparency, accountability, and action-driven governance. Through regular oversight and community engagement, we continue to ensure that public funds are spent responsibly and that residents receive the reliable, quality services they deserve.
