The DA in the Kgetlengrivier Local Municipality welcomes the decision to overturn the illegal extension of the Municipal Manager, Joseph Mogale’s, contract after we wrote to North West COGTAHS MEC, Lenah Miga, raising our objections and making her aware of the illegality of Council’s decision.
Council has now requested that the North West Provincial Government send an acting municipal manager to Kgetlengrivier while the process to recruit a permanent replacement is finalised.
The DA will scrutinise the interim appointment by the Provincial Government to ensure that the individual deployed meets the minimum requirements for the position of Municipal Manager and has a clean record, free from any allegations of fraud and corruption.
In addition, we will ensure that the correct process is followed in the recruitment of a new Municipal Manager and that Council appoints a skilled and experienced professional to improve service delivery and adhere to good financial management practices.
The DA will continue to put the residents of Kgetlengrivier first.
