The Democratic Alliance (DA) has written to the newly elected Madibeng Executive Mayor, Joseph Ratloi, requesting an urgent meeting with him, the new Mayoral Committee and officials from relevant departments to discuss ways to improve service delivery.

The DA wants to establish Mayor Ratloi’s commitment to the following service delivery issues:

(i) the bad state of Madibeng roads;

(ii) sewage running in our roads, streams and rivers;

(iii) the inconsistent delivery of water and the bad quality of water;

(iv) huge areas where street lights are not working;

(v) the dirty town with the cutting of grass being non-existent

(vi) how he will restore financial accountability and overall stability to the municipality.

Service delivery was a huge concern under former Mayor Jostina Mothibe and it is important to get clarity from Mayor Ratloi’s stance on this extremely important issue.

The DA will also hand in an action plan on how to restore Madibeng to a stable living area that residents can be proud of.

The DA will continue to monitor the new Mayor and his progress and will hold him accountable should he fail in his duties toward the residents of Madibeng.
