The Democratic Alliance (DA) wishes to convey its deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of former MEC for Department of Public Works and Roads, Mmule Maluleke, who passed away on Friday morning after a long illness.
Mme Maluleke will be remembered as a resilient, soft spoken person. She was known for chairing the portfolio committees on Agriculture and Tourism and also Local Government in the North West Provincial Legislature after her period as an MEC in 2018.
We commend her bravery for serving as an MEC over a controversial Department riddled with corruption. Although her tenure was short-lived, she worked to the best of her ability.
Her down to earth personality and friendly face made her stand out in a world where many forget their roots once they accede to power.
May her soul rest in peace.
